Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them One boy was keen to return to the area and weed/pick up litter again. Another child hadn't been aware of the creek and was really excited to look at the water samples under a stereoscope.

How has this kit impacted your class culture toward whenua ora (land wellness) and sustainability? We are interested in maintaining this part of the park and its creek in future. Future trips to the park to clean it up will be planned next year as well as studying the soil and the plants that grow by the creek.

What was the most interesting piece of rubbish found and why? Someone found a golf ball - unusual as there isn't a golf course around.
We have a park at the back of our school through which a creek runs. It is cared for by the Styx Living Laboratory Trust. They came to our hub and talked about the park and the creek. We went over to sample the water and used our sea cleaners kit to help to clean the creek. We found that the creek did not contain a lot of rubbish but there were lots of weeds. We tidied the area and collected 8 bags worth of weeds that were on the edge of the creek and preventing native shrubs from surviving. One of our parents is a scientist and took some water samples which were made into slides. The children then had the opportunity to see the slides under a stereoscope. They loved the science part.
