Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them AP - I was happy that we collected so much rubbish because we are saving the animals in the ocean. From now on I am going to pick up rubbish to help the environment. I liked that we all took turns to write on the big sheet. I think the biggest piece of rubbish we found was a car bumper but we couldn't bring that back to school so luckily the council took it away. AR - I found it surprising to see what dirty filthiness there was around the river. I am going to pick up more rubbish and tell other people not to leave rubbish on the ground. LC - It was fun picking up the rubbish and testing the water to see how healthy the river is. At some points it was also disgusting to think that people leave rubbish like that behind. I saw a dirty nappy. Now I want to learn how much rubbish goes into the ocean and I am researching more about the Pacific Garbage Patch for my research project.
Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The rubbish bags and gloves - real life application of learning.
How many bags of rubbish did your class collect? We joined with another class and collected 11 bags and some bigger items which the council took away.

There is a focus on some form of social action required from each group to promote whenua ora and sustainability.
