What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? I hope that the habit of a daily self check on feelings will support them as they move through life.

“We have been using the Self Esteem kit to develop a greater awareness of how our behaviour and emotions are linked. The questions made for really interesting addition to our maths wall as we used counters in a Yes, No pot system. The te reo whānau letters are a great addition to promote a sense of cultural identity for those students who use Māori at home.”

How has this the kit influenced the way in which students speak to each other? They are more considered when communicating with each other, we hear less comments about surface level features.

Which response stood out most? An adult in my life has vocally compared their body or appearance to somebody else in social media. I expected it but was still saddened that students are hearing this.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? They know what the important people in their life think of them but also that everyone has people like that in their lives, they're all different and that's a good thing.

“I was looking forward to using this kit with my students and was not disappointed. The range of activities were engaging, well levelled and easy to set. While it took some whānau longer than others to return homework, it was all worthwhile. My release teacher and I found the messages from those closest to them very moving. In some cases, it was surprising who they asked to complete this task.”

“This is a great resource. It supports many other resources and programmes I use. E.G Pause, Breathe, Smile Programme and Mindfulness. It helped the students to recognise their self worth and how to support others to have good self worth.”

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? the class I completed this with were not my full time class (I was CRT) - so the other teacher did some acitivities.

“This kit had an extensive array of activities to work through with my students. I loved the physical resources that came through. I also love how the kit came with pretty much all of the links and lesson plans to go with all the resources. The particular class that I was using this kit with, were a bit unmotivated, so I found it hard to get what i wanted to get out of them with this particular kit.”
