“My classroom had a rocky start to the year. The level of disrespect shown towards the class, their peers, and myself was concerning, and much of this behaviour was heavily influenced by factors outside of school. As a staff, alongside our RTLBs, we worked hard to address this within the classroom. When we began using the kit in Term 3, it required a lot of unpacking for my students, so we moved through it more slowly than intended. However, the impact was significant. My class gained a strong understanding of the influences in their lives, and I’m hopeful that moving forward, they will continue to recognise, seek out, and lean on their positive role models. Their confidence in themselves has grown in leaps and bounds too.”

“I found this kit great to support daily habits of self check in, also gave me an insight into how students may be feeling that day also. Tied in well to our RE programme also which was an added bonus.”

How has this the kit influenced the way in which students speak to each other? It is a much bigger study or inquiry topic than one box of teaching materials. Huge expectations . It needs to be linked to an inquiry topic.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? I will not select Kit Squad next time - it needs to be connected to the curriculum and fit in with class/school agenda's.

“While it looked good in the box, beautifully presented and printed - was it really childd friendly. Too wordy and far too many emails and promotional stuff from the Kit Squad. I used parts of it, related to the class of chidlren i had.”
