Again, another engaging kit! The Tamariki of Toutouwai enjoyed the challenge and were engaged, however as a teacher reflection towards halfway through, the stronger more capable students tended to dominate the clues and did not want to work collaboratively with the tamariki that were wanting to work together to solve (purely a teacher management feflection)
The resources in the kit were again fabulous and well thought out! We really enjoyed solving the puzzles.

“My year 6 students took 1 1/2 days to find purple monkey. They found it challenging at times to work as a team but with perseverance they managed. Was awesome to see some of my lower level learners able to build efficacy.”

“This was a really great school kit ; the context was engaging and the kids loved taking on the role of secret agents. The puzzles were interesting and challenged the students to persevere over the day. Some of the puzzles were possibly too challenging for year 3 level but they still loved it. The teacher book was useful for us to follow over the day, however it would have been good to have teacher copies of all the puzzles first so we weren't trying to figure them out at the same time as the kids. It's always helpful to be one step ahead of them. The level of organisation that went into preparing this kit was incredible, thank you so much. Some students commented on cross-curricular links which was a great connection to make.”
“Great kit! The year 3 children enjoyed the different challenges, however some of our children really struggled with some of the problems. I think if I was to change it I wouldn't have ability groupings and mix the groups up with different challenges that draw on different strengths. The kids loved the story and the purpose of the activity. All in all a wonderful day and I would love to see School Kit offering a similar kit in the future.”
