“Thanks school kit for a fun and engaging stem challenge! We love stem challenges in room 19 and this was one of our favourites. We loved making the circuits and role playing as secret agents!
While we had heaps of fun, some of the instructions for teachers were confusing and hard to read and could have been made simpler.
Thanks again for all of the resources inside the kit- it’s amazing how many elements there were to the challenge!

“This was an intricate and well designed activity. The instruction booklet at first glance seemed quite complicated, but when the children were participating it all made sense - thankfully it all came together! It really showed different strengths and weaknesses within groups and individually. This would be good to do at the beginning of the year too. There was a lot of excitement and fun to be had. “Such an exciting and detailed kit. My year 2/3 team had two kits for 3 classes, with 63 children total. It was challenging with this number and year group, and we should have used older students to lead the groups. The thought and resources involved were incredible and we were greatly appreciative to give it a go.”
“I am extremely impressed that someone managed to put this kit together. There are so many elements that came together so well. As a year group (Year 4), we bought some caution tape to block off the classrooms to build the excitement from the start of the day. The kids LOVED getting their own secret agent cards and creating their secret agent names. The clues were at a good level for the kids, although they found creating the circuit most difficult.
I would say that it took a lot longer than expected to organise the day prior. The confusing part was trying to figure out how to end the day as it was left very open. It's a good thing our principal is a good sport and was happy to hide away in the photocopy room proofreading reports over the day!! We topped the day off nicely with a treat of ice-blocks as a reward for finding Purple Monkey (seemed appropriate!).
Overall, the students were very positive about the day's experience and we had nothing but positive feedback from parents who had excited children returning home after school. Thanks for putting this all together and I would most definitely look into other school kits to try in the the coming school year.”
“This kit is amazing! It promotes problem solving, collaborative skills and critical thinking. Such a fun idea involving management staff in the students' learning too. I will be topping it up and using it again next year.”
“So we just did our day of looking for the purple monkey and the kids absolutely loved it. They used all their skills that they had been learning over the year - unplugged coding, collaboration, negotiations, trial and error and maths, literacy and writing skills. The students took on the story and were absolutely engaged with the content and what they had to do to get to the end of task, they were also worried about if Purple Monkey had been found and returned safely back to school. The only negatives would be that we did it late in the year and our teacher brains may not have been working the best, also that the content was very full on in terms of what we had to understand and do for the kids to complete the task. But having said this now that I have interacted and completed this task I now know how to do it - so bring it on School Kit you guys have some crazy brains to come up with stuff and it really hit the mark with our students, so thank you we loved it!”
“What an amazing kit! My class had so much fun and got right into it. Our principal was amazing too and played his role very well. I was so impressed with the amount of planning and organising involved in this kit. The instructions were detailed and easy to follow. There was a wonderful range of different challenges and the kids were fully engaged. At the end I asked my class what their favourite thing was about the activity and they said - working together in our squads to solve the clues. We all had such a great time. Thank you schools kit for such a fun, engaging, cooperative activity! What a wonderful way to end the year.”
