How did the activity help students make connections between circuit theory and real-world applications? The activity helped students connect circuit theory to real-world applications by allowing them to build and troubleshoot digital systems, just like real engineers.
“My Year 7 class absolutely loved Story Vets! The engaging storyline and hands-on activities captured their imagination, but the standout feature was definitely the coding component. It offered a fantastic opportunity for students to apply computational thinking in a creative context, making the learning both meaningful and fun. Watching them debug, problem-solve, and bring their digital stories to life was a highlight of our term. Highly recommended for integrating literacy and digital technologies in a purposeful way!”

“This was my first time using SchoolKit myself. Although I found the resources extremely fun and well out together, I found it a little confusing to follow. Had I sat down and really taken time to figure it out I'm sure I would've had a better experience at teaching this however, as a busy teacher I don't always have the time to do so. Nevertheless we did find it fun hence why I'm wanting to try another!”

What feedback have you received from students or parents about the learning in this kit? The children liked the hands on materials and visuals.
“The kit had a nice mix of hands-on activities and learning in different subjects. The students liked pretending to be vets and working on the animal cases, especially when they got to use the X-ray glasses and lab test cards. It included science, reading, and coding, so there were lots of ways for students to join in, and many worked well together to figure things out. Some parts were more exciting than others, but the clear instructions and organised resources made it easy to use.”

What feedback have you received from students or parents about the learning in this kit? Being a rural school within a farming community, students had some prior knowledge about animal care and were therefore able to share their personal lived experiences, alongside the information and learning opportunities provided within the 'Vet School 24' kit.
“Students were highly engaged in the 'Story Vets 24' kit of resources and found them interesting, challenging and fun! The storyboarding activity, completed in small groups, was a great way of showing the sequence of events for each story, using images. Students enjoyed the venn diagram activity and were able to use the information they had learnt, to present this knowledge in a visual format. Critical thinking skills were utilised to reach a diagnosis for the presenting ailments of each of the four animals. It was a great co-operative learning experience, in order for students to analyse the information and data to successfully deduce what all of the presenting symptoms were caused by.”
