What feedback have you received from students or parents about the learning in this kit? Many of my students were ESOL learners and they all experienced success and literacy in context.
“Great inquiry bringing in so many aspects of literacy and highly engaging at all places . Brought in extra career links looking at what and where people study in NZ if wanting to become a vet. Creative and engaging kit of source material especially the posters with the glasses .”

What feedback have you received from students or parents about the learning in this kit? Compassion for animals that are hurt. TPR was of high interest to students. It was a good exercise in needing to go back and revise initial assumptions using diagnostic techniques- rather than heading in a singular direction to get an answer.
“My Year 5/6 class used this kit in Term 3 and most found it engaging and interesting. For some , the technical content was a bit challenging to grasp however they all enjoyed getting to be vet detectives and diagnosing what was happening with ‘their patient’.”

“The highlight for my students was role playing working at a vets. They were the employers and asked a younger class to bring their pets (soft toys) in to see the vet.”

What feedback have you received from students or parents about the learning in this kit? They felt their students were engaged and able to talk about their learning
“There were some great activities and were engaged and learned what I wanted them to walk away with. I did find it a bit awkward with some of the videos pertaining to TPR as one Talk focused on infection related to syphillis. I have a nursing background so went in a different direction for this part. Some of the reproductive talks were a little too explicit for the vibe I wanted from this unit.”

Did this kit increase your students awareness of the skills needed to work in the vet industry? We also had a parent come in and talk to the students who is a vet nurse. Combined this gave a really great insite to the vet world.

What feedback have you received from students or parents about the learning in this kit? Students very engaged and talking at home to parents about what they have learnt, as well as their future aspriations.
“This kit is amazing! We loved learning about diagnostic techniques and the science involved (including a massive discussion about gaining qualifications in later schooling to become a vet), as well as the crossover to using coding to represent each animal and their symptoms. We had some robust discussions around each diagnosis.”
