The resources provided and the processes/posters given to help each step are awesome. It was very easy to follow along with clear instructions and engaging moments for the children to participate in. We ended up choosing to help out with SPCA so our journey is still going and will most likely keep going for the rest of the term.

Once again this kit has been great! It got students thinking about others in our community and how we could support them through hard times. It linked really nicely into our communication based inquiry. Thanks again!

What was the community impact of your volunteering project? Students are now aware of SVA and how many volunteers keep NZ moving during this Pandemic. Right from growers, harvesters to shop shelves and consumers.... and exploring these was very engaging. They were quite focussed on essential workers of and during

A fantastic unit to explore during these uncertain times of the pandemic. Students could think of the many organisations that are already doing so much work to support our communities and to be a part of a helping community. Thanks School Kit.

What was the community impact of your volunteering project? Unfortunately due to further Covid restrictions we are yet to finish our project however it worked well in our classroom as it was 100% student led and focused on areas where students saw a need. This fitted in with the Special Character of our school and

The pack was full of resources which I was able to use for other units, not just this one. It was set well with Y8 students and had clear steps for how we could go about completing an impact project in our class.

What was the community impact of your volunteering project? Really good to make connections with the community and help people in need. Unfortunately we had to make changes to our plans due to covid and instead of visiting a rest home we had to send cards etc. We still raised money but it would have been more powe

An awesome kit- great to have useful and practical resources to help children to volunteer and give back to the community. Great to give them a voice to choose their own community focus with guidance.

What was the community impact of your volunteering project? The response from our community was incredible once we announced a cake stall to raise funds for Starship Hospital. We had so many delicious cakes, biscuits and muffins that we not only sold to children at lunch but had masses to sell to parents at the en

Yet again another amazing SVA kit. It was great to have updates with the bands for children (they loooved these!!). The sheet where children could identify their strengths to then work out their best role was thought provoking for both children and staff alike. This is the first time I have used the SVA kit with senior pupils and they enjoyed the challenge and were excited to raise money with this kit to support Starship Hospital. Many thanks again for providing incredible resources for teachers to engage pupils of all ages and abilities.

This was pitched too high for my Year 1 class. We heavily adapted the content to simplify and base the volunteer project on site. The students loved the wrist bands and the theme fitted beautifully with our school solidarity theme.
