Great school kit with lots of different options and freedom within it. The kids learned a lot about individual responsibilities, taking roles, and being accountable to each other. It was really well set up in guiding them through the need for organisation, rather than leaping straight in and floundering as a result. Covid obviously had an impact on our ability to get through everything that we wanted to, but the children nevertheless took away valuable knowledge, learning and experiences.

This kit is aimed at older children. There is no way Juniors could run this without huge adult input. We loved the concept but keeping it very simple worked for our age level. They loved the buttons and armbands to say they were part of a community project. Just need a more junior orientated kit. were part of something that gave back to their Community. A great idea but need a more Junior kit.

What type of project did your class undertake? Project for Those in Need
The Student Volunteer Army unit was a great way to get my students to understand that the small acts they perform to help others, make a huge difference in people's lives. My class completed the unit and then decided to do a fundraiser to raise money for our local Foster children association. The funds raised bought 45 backpacks for students who are uplifted from their homes , who do not have anything when they are uplifted. The packs all had toothbrushes, toothpaste, pajamas, chocolate , pairs of socks and a hair brush.

This has been an awesome kit. When I first saw the kit i thought, wow this is a lot of work, but when I read it and divided it up for the students it was been great. Such rich learning in all areas. My students really took the task to heart and wanted to do something good for their community. Best of all it was ALL organised and run by them.

Because the children are young, five years old, we did a modified project, in which via a story about residents in a care home, the children came up with an idea to lessen the elderly people's isolation during Covid19. They came up with the ways to communicate through cards letters and flowers. They felt very proud of their contribution even though they did not get a direct response from the targeted group. This in itself was good too, as the children felt good about their actions without being rewarded. Although the bracelets were a hit!
