It was quite hard this year with all the interruptions, so I don't think I did the unit justice. But I do think the concept is fantastic and the unit is well put together. Thanks

What type of project did your class undertake? Project for Those in Need
They chose to fundraise for people in need and decided to have a Quiz night to raise money for Breast Cancer. They also had a mufti day, made and sold cupcakes and raffle tickets! We were blown away by people in our community who donated! We ended up raising $4650 for Breast Cancer which was way over our goal of $1000!! My class felt very proud of their efforts and will hopefully be inspired to run future fundraising events!

What type of project did your class undertake? Greenspace Project
Our class undertook rebuilding our school gardens to provide kai for families. We used the New World garden seeds in our glasshouse as wells as raisins seedlings for families to grow their own vegetables. We made salads and vegetable fritters to share with our families too. The students were empowered to talk about what to grow and where to make their own family gardens of edibles.

What type of project did your class undertake? Food Bank Project, Other
I found this kit to be excellent. It certainly made the children think about how they could volunteer to help others and how even little things can make a difference. We talked about how helping others makes us feel as human beings. We also did a lot of work around the positive changes we can make to help our environment. We had some great discussions around sustainability going forward and how the little changes they make in the way they live daily makes a difference. However, we needed to adapt the kit to fit around the changing COVID Levels in term 3.

What type of project did your class undertake? Fundraising
My kids loved it. We decided to raise some funds for the SPCA. This was chosen as I fostered kittens during and aftr lockdown, and I got to bring these poor wee kittens inot to so they could get solicised with kids. The kids then wanted to know more about the SPCA etc so that is what they decided to do. We had a lemonade stand at school to raise money and we asked for donations of okd stuffed toys and blankets etc to take to the SPCA.
