What was the community impact of your volunteering project? We are yet to do the final part of our project but I know the students will be able to provide fundraising to their chosen charity, which is their goal. They have done a lot of planning and organisation so I know this will be successful.

I have been lucky enough to receive the SVA kit as a teacher over three years. It is always motivating, engaging and a real treat for students. The kit is full of interactive tools for the students to use, and they are really enthusiastic because of this. The planning sheets, badges and bracelets are all fantastic. These help students to develop their own ideas and keep going with the project.

Fantastic kit with so many useful ideas and tools. Love that there are so many different roles the students can be. We are going to be using the kit in Term 4, to organise a Christmas food bank.

What type of project did your class undertake? Staying in Touch from Afar
This was a great project that fitted well as a carry on community project for our kids from last year. We worked with a local seniors home which the children have visited the year prior. Due to COVID-19 this put an initial spanner in the works however completed this digitally.

Unfortunately with Covid levels changing we did not launch this kit during term 3 as we had planned to work with local kaumatua in our area without family support. We are hoping to launch in term 4.
