I have been lucky enough to receive the SVA kit as a teacher over three years. It is always motivating, engaging and a real treat for students. The kit is full of interactive tools for the students to use, and they are really enthusiastic because of this. The planning sheets, badges and bracelets are all fantastic. These help students to develop their own ideas and keep going with the project.

My class at RBS thoroughly enjoyed this experience. The background research of the CHCH earthquakes was very interesting for the students. Their parents and older siblings had experienced them, but my students were not even born. This gave the class an understanding of an SVA and how it could relate to their own little army. They couldn't wait to share their involvement with their parents at our Student learning Conferences. It was rewarding to hear them talk about the activity and how proud they were of them selves.

This was a great pack that my class enjoyed using. The instructions were very easy to follow and the class enjoyed doing each step. We couldn't fully do our greenspace program as in-depth as we would have liked due to covid-19 restrictions but we did our best.

Room 15 at Clifton Terrace School, Nelson had an awesome time working on their Student Volunteer Army project. Pre-Covid19 the classes have had visits to The Wood Retirement Village in Nelson city. But of course that all came to an end with the onset of Covid.

We loved looking at the local community and how we could volunteer, we decided we would help the local food bank and we would hold a bake sale and collect items for the food bank.
