Hi there, Just wanted to thank you for the school kit. Unfortunately due to Covid-19 and doing another major project (WONDER PROJECT for science) did not enable us sufficient time to attempt this project this year. Hence we are requesting for an extension please. Regards, Madhwi Mistry. Year 7 Teacher Southern Cross Campus.

The students were very engaged with the project. Integrated the PPDAC statistical cycle so they could identify a volunteer project that met a need within their school commumity.

What was the community impact of your volunteering project? Unfortunately there wasn't a lot of community impact as we found it quite hard to keep up with our chosen project and couldn't include the community. We had ideas and mapped out what we wanted to achieve but time was not on our side.

We started off so well, jobs were filled, explanations &; expectations were clear and we were ready to start. Covid really hit us hard with this project and I found the students were losing interest in keeping up with it. Also, the badges were breaking and the kids were sad about this, although a student in the class made it is goal to try and fix them. I really want to have another go with this in 2021 because I feel I just didn't have the time to put 100% effort in to it and I feel terrible about that. I already have the project in mind for 2021 and I really hope I get the chance to achieve a new set of goals with the new project.

This was a really useful kit, though we perhaps didn't have as much time on it as we would have liked. However, it got all students thinking about how they can help others.

This SVA kit was amazing inspiration for my class. We changed it up a bit and did several projects depending on the childrens' interests. We were interupted by Covid lockdowns but it was inspiring for the kids to see in these crazy times where a lot was out of their control, that they could help make a positive impact on their world and this was empowering and uplifting to them. 1) Paremuka Stream Clean (in conjunction with Eco Matters): https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1P8TUZQ0lkLSEztL6CZ2auSSR5gWoEYk3c3vmMYhyvRs/edit?usp=sharing 2) Fundraiser for Women's Refuge: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1uvcYcxhUarxGRsFcE-QNDQA2A11bF4HSJp6YYAApfhM/edit?usp=sharing 3) Basketball Free Throw comp fundraiser for Vision West: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1DsJBzzw-kbem7Bg9cnyUYxVcaE3Q3KytzlHH9FczRbQ/edit?usp=sharing 4) Donation of goods and $40 to SPCA: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/14n-DYuRI0gXvr6cjJOxpx25QtLCj3RTeb3SVaod5ZSM/edit?usp=sharing 5) Creation of toys and dog treats for the Henderson Animal Shelter: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1_vcam33Z6Sjiihn-XHhwNlLvLx0LsM1OTlCkwFKTPh4/edit?usp=sharing

Unfortunately time constraints prevented year 2 class from utilising this toolkit more successfully. We helped clean up a garden to table vegetable garden within the school grounds. Donating mulch and plants was involved too!
