What was the community impact of your volunteering project? The impact is only partly underway as we created bookmarks to spread kindness and placed them inside favourite library books in the school library. Children will receive a surprise gift of a bookmark when they loan the book. Children quite liked the idea

Due to students needs I adjusted this kit a bit. As the end of year timetable started to change and teachers were released for testing students anxiety began to rise and therefore their ability to collaborate as effectively as they would normally would was somewhat diminished. Although this made collaborating a little bit challenging it also reinforced the purpose of our sharing kindness to make a person feel good (wellbeing / hauoura). For some children it was challenging to grasp the concept of creating a bookmark with a kind message to make someone feel good and who that someone was or when they would receive it was not under their control. A really good way to do something for altruistic reasons - just to be kind and make others feel good. We hope you do another SVA kit next year as we love sharing kindness - filling others buckets also fills our own buckets!

What was the community impact of your volunteering project? Unfortunately we weren't able to put enough time into this kit and therefore the impact was limited. Otherwise this kit would have been fantastic. It just didn't work at the time.

What was the community impact of your volunteering project? We went out into the community and learnt how to politely talk to strangers and inform them of who we were collecting for. The children gained confidence and were seen as ambassadors for our school and the Blind Foundation. They were very popular with the

This was a great kit with lots of resources. It took us 3 terms to finish due to covid but the students interest was maintained throughout. Teaching Y2 the topic choice was teacher led and we chose to support the Guide Dogs as the class love animals. There was opportunity to learn about a variety of assist dogs during lockdown and then we managed to have a Saturday morning collecting for the Blind and Low Vision Foundation. Our April project of making Guide Dog cookies didn't happen until November but the skills learnt from making, decorating, marketing, selling, working out finances and learning about team roles was so hands on and relevant to our class learning.

What was the community impact of your volunteering project? I'm hoping it will be ongoing. Weather hampered us in our efforts to get to our waterways, but the desire to maintain healthy waterways for the enjoyment of others and create events to get community involved was real. The nature of this year has made it h

This kit could be an entire terms inquiry or a smaller scale project depending on how you want to use it. It promotes student agency and leadership, as well as collaboration. My students felt empowered to take action. We will definitely use this again and again. It can be linked in with other kits. We did the Healthy Waterways Kit also which, in the future, I would combine with this.

The student volunteer army school kit was a perfect kit to grow leadership in our students in my class. When I registered for this kit I was all excited as I could see the skills and experience it would provide for my class. However, as we went into lock down I had put it to one side. Nevertheless, I was quite determined to continue with it as I believed it was a wonderful kit. As a class we wanted to reach out to the elderly in our community but with COVID, this idea was not possible to pursue so we decided to do something for our junior team at school. With the year coming to a close we looked at how we could encourage a smoother transition for students from the juniors into the middle school. We decided to work across the team and group our ideas. We had some groups focusing on different activities such as board games, gardening, reading, sharing games, digital learning, science experiments. The biggest and most rewarding part was seeing how students took on the different roles and worked in collaboration. This developed leadership and gave students ownership and an opportunity of giving service to others. With the hands on approach and involvement, and working with our juniors teaching them a skill and getting to know them was rewarding for everyone. Alongside my class sharing their activities with the juniors, I also had a smaller group who focused on a school wide project ";Cans for Christmas"; and raised 336 cans throughout the school to donate these to St Vincent de Paul. This would be a kit that I wouldn't mind doing again as I could see how involved the students were. Thank you school kit.

What was the community impact of your volunteering project? The juniors had an opportunity to work with a different class. They were challenged by the middle class with lots of predictions and questions. The juniors had a chance to work in a different space and learn how to make friends.

First of all,I would like to apologise for the delayed process of completing the SVA project. We planned to visit the old age home for part of our voluntarily project but it did not work. We called the old age home and did not allow us to visit them because of the Pandemic. Due to the short time, we decided to work with the junior team Year 0-2 and worked on collaborating and teaching them how to play some games, science experiments, buddy reading, making cards, learning shortcuts on chrome books, drawing etc. The juniors came in and spent the last block with us. Our students has been preparing all the items to teach the juniors. They made their own instructions, games and have practiced delivering it among their friends. Itv was a great opportunity to show leadership and making new friends. Some students got really confident when they had to speak up and show and explain on what to do. Great skills and thank you for giving us the opportunity.
