Due to our Level 2 Lockdown, this unit was abandoned in favour of our on line learning independent model. The collaborative nature of this unit meant that it did not meet the needs of the stuents during lockdown and when we arrived back at school for the remainder of the 3rd term.

What type of project did your class undertake? Project for Those in Need
The SVA kits the we received at Waitara Central School were packed full of information. The students really liked how they had control over what we were going to do as a Student army going into the community to help in areas that were in need of some attention. It gave them a sense of pride knowing that they were doing something for other people and were making a difference

Our students used this kit as a catalyst for their community project on native wildlife. It was a great base for gathering information and distributing roles across small teams in order to spread important messages in our neighbourhood.

The kids enjoyed the elements of the kit and it helped us to organise the roles, though not all applied to our particular community project. The armbands and badges made them feel like a real team.
