What was the community impact of your volunteering project? The passion project was to make a difference in our school. The children came up with school gardens and fruit trees which then progressed to constructing a green house with recycled materials. We have written persuasive texts to businesses for donations

Overall a good kit as to where to start with my class and how I could connect a unit of teaching with our big idea in our syndicate. My approach was to get students to be more involved in our school and hopefully see the children volunteer in their community. The aim was to allow the students to see another view of how we can make a difference and how this could benefit our people of our town.

The SVA kits the we received at Waitara Central School were packed full of information. The students really liked how they had control over what we were going to do as a Student army going into the community to help in areas that were in need of some attention. It gave them a sense of pride knowing that they were doing something for other people and were making a difference

The kids enjoyed the elements of the kit and it helped us to organise the roles, though not all applied to our particular community project. The armbands and badges made them feel like a real team.

Fantastic resources, really helped our learners collaborate with others and assisted those that struggled to come up with an idea for project based learning resources to get them started.

Some really good ideas, such as different roles that students can take on when embarking projects. Also some great examples of different schools' projects.
