Sadly our initiatives were interrupted by the covid lockdown. Even when we got back to school we could not send the students out to do their planned volunteering as they were with a kindergarten and retirement home, as well as collecting books for the kids in hospital. They had done a good job planning but covid struck just as we were about to implement our plans.

It’s a great kit. But I’m going to use it in term 1 2022. Due to lockdown and a very busy term 4 I’m unable to fit in. Will use to start year and work through with new class.

This Kit was easily integrated in to my multi-level and ability class. The resources were well produced, easy to follow, and importantly for any school resource, adaptable to my tamariki. Thanks!

What type of project did your class undertake? Greenspace Project, Project for Those in Need, Staying in Touch from Afar
We thought of our community within the class. Our student volunteer army performed acts of service and kindness for family within their bubbles. They learned to see the needs of others. We also helped the caretaker at school by tidying our environment on the playground and other area of the school. Picking up rubbish to and from school when walking. Lots of learning conversations around community and being helpful.

Unfortunately due to COVID and a change of classroom I was unable to use this kit. I have used it before though and it is an excellent resource. Hopefully I will be able to use it with my new class in 2922.
