We started our project by beautifying our own school enviroand created a meditation garden space in our school field behind one of the class rooms. We planted fruit trees around the space this faces the front footpath meaning fruit can be accessed by all

“The students in my class all loved the SVA kit. It was a great way to start our year as I was new to teaching that year level. It provided a real sense of community and we all appreciated each others roles. We got to learn more about each other and build relationships. This really helped our morale for the term. The kit linked so well with the NZ curriculum and was a valuable resource that enabled me as a teacher to provide authentic and relevant learning opportunites. Parents and whanau commented on how exctied the students were when they came home discusssing the SVA tasks they had been invovled in. They loved the badges and really treasured them, they were proud of the work they completed and had positive feedback from the school and wider community, The newspaper even contacted us after seeing one of our blog and facebook posts about our work with the SVA. It was my second year teaching and my first year using School Kit I can't speak highly enough of it and will defintily love the chance to sign up for another kit.”

“Our whole team from the middle syndicate were looking at ways to help our community. The local park and community garden is a place where some of our students play. Students really enjoyed going to the gardens every Friday and have been learning from their teachers as well as other community people.
