“An absolutely amazing kit. Tamariki were motivated to take real action in an area they were passionate about. Thank you for the wonderful resources. We are cooking for Ronald McDonald House- exciting.”
“The students had a wonderful time. They came up with an idea and worked in groups to complete different aspects.
They were proud of what they had achieved.”
“Class was really motivated and looked outside of the box for ideas and ways to make a positive impact to their wider community. The roles and ways to identify strengths was a easy tool to use and peers gave interesting comments and ways to identify each others strengths for the roles needed.”
“This kit was a great resource for enabling us to get started as members of the SVA. My students loved the wristbands, window sticker and pin badges- Unfortunately a few of the pin badges were faulty. These resources made them feel very official. The initial task to work out who would suit each role was really valuable and having the roles explained was a great talking point for discussion. Having completed our first SVA activity at a local retirement home, they are now keen to carry out some more activities in our community.”
“We found the structure of the different roles helped us to get the project up and running very effectively. I especially found the identification of individual strengths to be useful in helping students find a role that suited them.”
“We have an extension for the SVA21 kit as I started the Term with 9 Äkonga and this number grew literally overnight to 25. I restarted what we had begun to explore and we're really looking forward to more exploration and setting up our project next Term.
We've tied the kit into learning about our area so that they project we do create has not only a purpose, but creates something that becomes a sustainable project.”
