What was the community impact of your volunteering project? We visited Cantabria rest home and hospital, performing for them and playing cards and other games with them. We left them with smiles on their faces, and on the faces of our tamariki. It was an important thing for our tamariki to see what different people in our community have to cope with and to be more mindful of the needs of others.

The kit was very user friendly, came on time and it was a meaningful experience for our tamariki. Not only because we chose a worthy cause, but because the students were able to run the programme with a great deal of ownership and independence.

What was the community impact of your volunteering project? Our students participated in a range of community actions. Baking for the local volunteer fire brigade, raising funds for Huha and the Cancer Society, as well as Grandparents Raising Grandchildren and helping at Ngā Manu Bird Sanctuary.
