“As a first year teacher, having the kit to teach in the classroom was a major bonus. The whole unit was an incredible learning opportunity for my students and myself. We investigated, discovered, trialled and discovered again during the activities.
We started the kit a bit later than I'd wanted but once we started, it was interactive, students were interested and questioned their findings and investigations. I use the kit as our inquiry unit and tied our literacy and numeracy lessons within it. A concept my students engaged with a lot.

“So many learning opportunities for my Year 5/6 class! The scent stickers were a great, interactive hook in to begin the unit and we managed to work our way through the majority of activities. The writing was extremely successful for all students, the short poetry formats kept students motivated and engaged. The connection to algorithms was a welcome addition while the science activities were a great platform to continuously be talking about fair testing and controls. I found the teacher background info really helpful but am still familiarising myself with the layout of the page. “The look of the resorce is really high calibre and engaging. My tamariki were eager to unbox and read the challenges (even though they are only Y2). The tasting "experiments"were fun and interesting, and a great way to introduce scientific langauge as well as provoking excellent discussions and new ideas. Due to a very busy term it took longer than I thought but the children were consistently engaged and became so curious to try and taste the new lunches as well as develop reasonings for their opinions.”
