How has the taste literacy of your students developed throughout this kit? The Sandwich haiku was a cute task and in a context that appealed to them as learners. They learnt about adjectives and were able to build their vocabulary knowledge in science eg taste buds, senses etc.
Wow what a journey this kit was. The experiments were exciting, hands on and specific to the scientific method (which we were learning). The students were able to discover how our senses can make an impact on what we eat and the flavours we sometimes think we are tasting just by looking at the colour of something. The blindfold activities made the students nervous but excited at the same time. We were able to use the taste vocabulary cards to help us recognise different smells and tastes and the students throughly enjoyed the smell reset activity as well. Thank you so much for this kit. It encouraged the students to experiment with the lunches, discuss and make predictions about why their eyes were telling them something different to their tastebuds. I was impressed with the vocabulary they learnt throughout this unit and highly recommend using it in your class.

It linked well with the learning we did with the school lunches and encouraging students to try the new food and identify the new food.

How has the taste literacy of your students developed throughout this kit? It hasn't. Children unwilling to try new things. Only eat a lot of processed foods and packages from home.
It didn't seem really worthwhile for my 5 year olds, it was a bit above them for some parts as they weren't prepared to try new things
