What made you decide to undertake a tax based programme and specifically the Part of something bigger kit for your students?
I wanted my aakonga to see how an individuals job can make a huge contribution to a community. The real life example of a supermarket allowed them to connect with the roles and jobs because they have an idea of how a supermarket works.
If you were to re use this resource in the future, how would you see yourself doing this? (Eg, as a full unit, separately in other units of work, integrating into cross curricular lesson plans)
I incorporated the resources into a unit I had, next time around I’d probably use it in a unit based around the use of systems.

The charts with the breakdown of the areas of government spending. We had to spend some time unpacking some of the names. Most aakonga had some knowledge of government spending, others were introduced to new knowledge.
