“Rooms 5 and 4 at Beaconsfield School had a great time measuring and problem solving with the Cow Olympics! We were even lucky enough to have a visit from a real tanker and found out all about the processes involved in transferring the milk from the farm to the factory!”
“My class of Year 5 and 6 loved this school kit. The maths concepts involved were really challenging but provided a great opportunity for new learning. Most of the children in my class live on dairy farms, so the grass to glass process was incredibly relevant and high interest for them. They LOVED the cow olympics!”
“This was an excellent kit that the children found extremely motivating. They learnt lots of maths using real life examples. The Fonterra article about changing the route for their biggest fan was perfectly timed for this kit too. Thanks heaps for sending all the resources to help the kids get the most out of the practical learning activities.”
“My kids are loving all the different thinbgs we have learned so far...
From Google Maps to using protractors to finding out facts about cows and their stomachs!”
“Track the Tanker has been fantastic hands on learning for my students. They have really enjoyed using Google Maps and Google Earth to track milk from our local milk factory (Edendale) to their homes! We also found Floor plan creator so much fun to use. I have been impressed once again with the resources, the learning and the fun!
We have planned our cow olympics but have been busy prepping for camp and off to camp next week so are planning to hold it in the last week of the term.
Thanks School Kit”
“The kids were super engaged with the lessons about following the map and measuring the distance and angles. We weren't quite ready for the maths challenges. The cow Olympics was incredible with the kids being creative and working collaboratively and thinking outside the box. And then when we participated in the Olympics the kids loved the competition and the fun ideas. And all the equipment was provided which made it super easy for me to carry out the lessons.”
