“What a great learning experience. We enjoyed learning about chemical reactions and how cooking is all about chemical reactions. The base recipe worked so well and we had fun tasting the cupcakes. It was timely to try and blow up a balloon with masks on and lots of squeals were had outside with the bottles and balloons. It was great to have an example of solid, liquid

“This kit was easy to use and engaging for all. Lots of feedback came from parents who said it was all their child spoke about. It covered a holistic curriculum - Science, Maths, Reading Writing and digital technology. You could also add in Art and Health - nutrition It showed who was a risk taker, who was a team player and who could manage themselves. It especially helped with building relationships at the beginning of the term.”

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? The students love baking in my current class and loved comparing what they made with some of the things they bake at home normally. We will still try to run this in its entirety at school later in the year :-)

Great for measurement strand and looking at how different ingredients combine to change texture of the mixture and finished product. Many were fooled with taste but we were unable to test against another class as students who did this worked at home.
