The students now see the connection between baking and science. They have been exposed to how to conduct a fair test and how to change one variable.

How did the context of baking a cake help engage your students in science and maths learning?
It was part of our science unit this term and fitted in very well, especially when we looked at what makes a fair test and a negative control. It crossed over a little with our maths work on measurement and fractions and percentages.
