“My class really enjoyed this vegetable cake kit. We used it as a whole term writing plan. The children made the base cake and then as a class we decided what vegetables we wanted to use in the vegetable cake. My class chose chickpeas as a replacement for flour and diced apples as a replacement for sugar. Our mixture was very runny and we didn't mash the chickpeas enough. We will had more dry ingredients next time. Overall, we enjoyed this school kit and the children had a great time!”

“This was a really well organised and structured activity. It fitted in with our chemistry unit perfectly. We had been growing vegetables in Term 1 so it was great to wind it up with the culmination of harvesting and using the vegetables. I would definitely use this again and devote more time to looking at why we are replacing some of the ingredients with certain vegetables. The students loved this activity and said some of the cakes were pretty tasty!”
