“This is such a cool project - prefect to bring the community together in a fun and engaging way. I love that it connects to so many parts of the curriculum. The kids are enjoying working their way through the tasks.”
“My Y5/6 class enjoyed the learning in trying to count the number of steps taken each day by themselves and their whanau. The feeling of community was really fostered through this kit which was invaluable!”
“My year7/8 class thoroughly enjoyed this kit. The measured their footstep and counted their steps around our field and school. The conversations were amazing and filled with Maths. They really loved the stickers and shoelaces.”

“This kit has been AWESOME! my kids have had so much fun trying to get up their steps and connecting with their community. Although we didn't get enough steps we still had so much fun and learnt a lot!
The discussion and teamwork that happened around this kit in regards to how to get people to participate, how many people we needed to get involved to get enough steps, etc. It also really helped to lift the students spirits after the second lockdown!”

Still counting until Friday. We have a massive beach walk planned for Tuesday : )
“There is so much learning around this kit we will continue on with broader learning next term. Great way to incorporate fitness, maths, NZ geographical and historical knowledge. Great team building activity, and way to engage with the extended families of our class.”
“Easy to incorporate into the curriculum. Great to do something outdoors, especially as we were coming into summer. Children loved learning about the different pedometers and the pros and cons of each!”

We got 8500 steps a day
“Thos kit was awesome. The kids were so intrigued with just how much fun you can have with walking and the learning that is linked with it. They used the tools to test out how many steps they do within their busy days. Some student s even took the tools home to share with their families what they had learnt through our activities within this kit. This was a great way to entice families to join in and get active during the process. We didn’t quite get to 10000 steps but got pretty close.”
“This was great resource and my students loved the measuring and collating of their distances to see how far they had walked or ran. We did this in conjunction with out cross country practices which gave students great motivation.”
