“We loved this, it has worked perfectly alongside our riparian planting and given a whole new aspect to the work we are doing - having the science and testing equipment at school makes it so much more accessible - we can toodle down to the stream by ourselves to take measurements - we no longer have to wait for equipment to borrow. Thanks again school kit!!! PS our stream is remarkably healthy! Heaps of stream life - even mayflies, damselflies and stoneflies in abundance!”

“The task cards were very comprehensive and gave clear instructions of what was needed. The equipment included in the box was relevant and intriguing to the students (some had never seen a periscope before). The subject matter was age appropriate and fascinating to both boys and girls (Yr 5/6) especially living in a coastal community and being an Enviro School. It would have been nice to know a bit more about the kit before scrambling to apply for it. This was a very comprehensive, deep topic which ended up forming our whole Learning Pathway for the term.”

“This kit was really well thought out. To prepare students we did modify the activities so they could do a 'dry run' at school before being out for the day. This introduced them to the equipment, gave them practice at using the gear and gave us a chance to talk about how to measure and record accurately pre visit. Unfortunately due to Covid restrictions both of our anticipated day visits to our local stream have had to be cancelled but non the less, together with the reading and pre-visit activities,m the students have gained a great deal of knowledge about how to keep local streams healthy. A highly recommended kit. Thank you”

“I took my class down to our local waterway, the Kowai river, with our principal and we had a great time testing our beautiful awa. The kit was easy to use. As suggested, we had a dry run at school and this helped with the children knowing exactly what to do. The cards were brillliant, very clear for the children to understand.”
