This had my class's mind blown when they realised water is in everything, not just the bottles they drink out of. We have meters coming in soon and we discussed how much water they used each day and how that will impact on their whānau's water bill. It was a very timely inquiry!

It was perfect having a different angle on sustainabilty. Students could really relate to what we called a products Water footprint. We were all shocked to understand how much water is usewd in the manufacturing process. Our biggest take away was to use less of everything.

How have your students' perceptions of water conservation changed since using the resource and did it foster a sense of responsibility and awareness in your classroom? Definitely. The simple act of calculating how much water is wasted during tooth brushing was quite staggering, then we multiplied that by our whole school, then town, then country.

This unit tied in really well to our Stewardship unit at school and also in connection with the work we have been doing about clean waterways as part of EMR.

The kit and unit plan were very useful. The kids liked seeing the resources on the wall. We made water cycles in a bag which were a huge hit.
