What influence has this kit had in promoting the longevity of water saving habits and what other water related topics did your students come up with? They really took all the habits on board, and got their families involved, and lots have changed habits at home. We thought about ways we could save water at school. My class loved this kit! They really became obsessed with saving water in every way possible, and being able to see their progress on the charts and comparing it to other contexts was pretty cool. They also loved the scientific side, learning about the water cycle, and it's impact on Earth. They found it so interesting, and a few times I heard them singing the song by The Bazillions. They also loved the activity which showed the relative amounts of water on Earth (saltwater, frozen freshwater, undrinkable freshwater, drinkable freshwater).

What was the impact of the daily stamping practice in your classroom and which water benchmark did your students find most fascinating? Students started off engaged, with interest wavering after about ten days. In the future I would consider doing one for a week a twice a term then they can compare.
How have your students' perceptions of water conservation changed since using the resource and did it foster a sense of responsibility and awareness in your classroom? Students have been more aware of water wastage. I have revisited the topic several times to keep them from losing interest (common in pre teens)

Fantastic resource with so many ways to be used. We as a class enjoyed the statistical inquiry and linking with our math and inquiry project, students were able to discuss the how and why with increased confidence during the topic.

My class was fully engaged with the 10-day homework exercise. Along with learning about water conservation, we also started a graphing unit. Parents were actively involved, and many households adopted new water-saving practices. It was brilliant!

Decent kit but not suited to a Y7&8 class for a term theme around Tangaroa, could be a great mini unit plan for a bigger picture :)

I have use Water Savers as a way of impressing onmy studetn the importance of being aware of why, what for and how they use water in their daily lives. We have explored the potential impacts on our water from various natural disasters and irrigation. I was impressed with my students critical thinking how they can contribute to the preservation of our clean water sources and what they are going to do to make others aware.

What was the impact of the daily stamping practice in your classroom and which water benchmark did your students find most fascinating? Children were engaged in stamping. I think the water vs juice/fizzy was intriguing - the idea that it takes more water to make juice than just drink the = amount of water.

The students enjoyed the gift bags with the reminds, stickers etc. They also were engaged in stamping the water saving actions. More clarity around when to stamp would have been good - e.g., for the juice vs water, do they only stamp if they've had the option to drink juice, and chosen water instead. The display was a little large - many classrooms don't have so much free wall space!
