What influence has this kit had in promoting the longevity of water saving habits and what other water related topics did your students come up with? A little more understanding. Looking after the environment by night polluting water with rubbish.

What was the impact of the daily stamping practice in your classroom and which water benchmark did your students find most fascinating? This was positive and encouraged constant thinking about what they could do. We are in an ILE and of the double charts funnily the half flush were the charts completely finished first.
How have your students' perceptions of water conservation changed since using the resource and did it foster a sense of responsibility and awareness in your classroom? Perceptions of water conservation have expanded slightly, some awareness as at Year 2, 2023 Water was an inquiry topic and Watercare visited the school.
On a scale of 1-10, how involved would you say families were at supporting this learning at home?

The children were really engaged with recording their efforts on the wall charts. It was the first thing most of them did as soon as they arrived at school. The wall displays were effective and helpful as visible reminders of our learning and how the children could make a difference themselves.

What influence has this kit had in promoting the longevity of water saving habits and what other water related topics did your students come up with? I hope so. Lots of students have commented that they were able to shower in under 5 minutes that shocked them.

What was the impact of the daily stamping practice in your classroom and which water benchmark did your students find most fascinating? They loved coming in and stamping their saved droplets. They loved watching it grow as the days went by.

My students enjoyed this process. They were shocked at the amount of water that is used in their house hold everyday. They even made a comparison between our school house to see how much we used together.

What influence has this kit had in promoting the longevity of water saving habits and what other water related topics did your students come up with? We had been doing an inquiry into water previously so it fit well with prior learning. I felt like at school we did not dive as deep into this because most of the kit required kids to do the water saving in their everyday lives outside of school so the connection to the kit was not as strong as other kits but I did have good feedback from parents

What was the impact of the daily stamping practice in your classroom and which water benchmark did your students find most fascinating? The kids enjoyed stamping the posters and feeling a part of the kit. It was achievable for every one of them to participate in some way.
How have your students' perceptions of water conservation changed since using the resource and did it foster a sense of responsibility and awareness in your classroom? Not so much in the classroom as water is not in common use. But I had a lot of feedback from parents saying their kids had talked to the family about what they could do to save water and they were eager to share their new learning. Kids were motivated to make a difference.

What influence has this kit had in promoting the longevity of water saving habits and what other water related topics did your students come up with? Seeing water as a finite resource, as well as small changes making large impact were discussion points the students got a lot out of.

What was the impact of the daily stamping practice in your classroom and which water benchmark did your students find most fascinating? We only focussed on two areas - the showers and the brushing teeth. This was easy to manage and remember for each student so it made it easier to track. Students who were having really long showers previously made the biggest impact when they realised how much water was being wasted.
How have your students' perceptions of water conservation changed since using the resource and did it foster a sense of responsibility and awareness in your classroom? They see the impact of small changes over time. (we caclculated the impact based on our statistical inquiry and how much water would be saved each year by our class alone. This was quite impacting).

We were doing a unit on Water and conservation so this fit in beautifully. The students really enjoyed the read life application of the satitistical investigation. We were lacking in time with other commitments so focussed mainly on the brushing teeth and showering investigations. The students were quite blown away with the magnitude of water that we saved just in the space of the investigation. Each individual noted down their savings for the week and we found that careful planning and education helped with water saving.

What was the impact of the daily stamping practice in your classroom and which water benchmark did your students find most fascinating? All encouraged each other to do more each day - a challenge for which ones you could do in your home.
How have your students' perceptions of water conservation changed since using the resource and did it foster a sense of responsibility and awareness in your classroom? Yes, as this linked into our inquiry and many saw the link between saving our water and the impacts on our environment. They were fascinated by the visual representation of the amount of drinkable water on earth - this really was an eye-opener!

Thanks for the engaging kit. Our tamariki were really engaged and our SeeSaw communication with whanau showed that many were sharing their learning on water saving tips with their families. This also fitted really well into our inquiry (Under the Canopy) and also in time for Matariki.

This kit has been a perfect teacher and student resource for our school inquiry on kaitiaki o te wai - guardians of our water. The videos, experiements and information was really suited for our Yr 5/6 class. The engagement with their own worlds and home was great. Again I enjoyed how you could take elements of the kit and adapt them to fit with what we were doing. This is 100% a resource I will use agan. Having prompts come up with videos and ideas etc on the SK squad page was also brilliant.
