“Concept is good but does not work well with large sheets. I did two windows of 2m x 1.2m using 5mm acrylic and the magnets are not strong enough to support the weight - had to fix an extra batten to support the underside to stop the glazing sliding downwards off the magnets. Also, with sheets this size, if the original window does not seal well (probably the reason for fitting the sheets in the first place) then the plastic is sucked / pushed when the wind outside is strong. On one window this causes the sheet to creak and groan as the Magnetglaze flexes in response - better than a howling gale but not restful.”

Hello, Thank you for your feedback. These are particularly large sheets which I'm guessing you purchased through a 3rd party as we don't offer Acrylic or 5mm thick sheet. The outer window is a concern for us as it effectively means you're lacking a thermal seal, preventing the secondary glazing being as effective as it should be. “Had a great experience with this company, I ordered Magnetglaze Pro Extreme for 4 old sash windows two of which I have the sash kit fitted. The glazing works perfectly making the windows much more soundproof and the rooms are noticeably warmer saving on heating bills. The sash kit work really well allowing the top sheet to be removed easily for ventilation, simple but effective design, take care when cutting your corners with the mitre block and you will have neat corners.”

“Mitres are tricky, a self adhesive cover for corners would be ppreciated.”

“Looks good and gives a neat finish. Fairly easy to cut and mitre. Instructions warn that the steel strip is very sharp and care is needed. Beware - wear gloves when sticking it to the frame as it is very easy to get cut hands”
