“After reading so many outstanding reviews of this product, I had really high hopes. My cat suddenly started urinating outside of his litter box so I had messes I had to clean up. I got my cat on meds and increase his daily activities for stimulation and he got back on track with the litter box. Then one day he had one accident again. I used Nature's Miracle. All good. A few weeks later, he had another accident, and I used Skout's Honor Urine Destroyer and all hell broke loose. My cat didn't even bother with the litter box anymore. For the life of me I couldn't figure it out, except that i used Skout's Honor. I thoroughly cleaned the area then used Nature's Miracle again. No meds or extra stimulation. And all was good again. I now think about what may have contributed.
I first noticed my cat having issues as soon as I started using a specific air freshener. It had natural oils and was citrusy. This Skout's Honor also has a similar, citrusy with plant-based ingredients, possibly similar natural oils. I made this final connection when I made a homemade concoction spray as an ant-deterrent that include essential lemon and lemongrass oils. After I sprayed that, my cat had a couple more accidents until I completely cleaned the area of the oils.
So, maybe giving this specific product a 1-star might not be fair, but I have to rate it based on how it performed for me. It's fair to say that my cat could very well have a sensitivity to specific citrusy oils. But I do have to rate the product according to what it did for me.”
