“Please be warned, the scent in this shampoo is OVERWHELMING. I had originally ordered the sandlewood/vanilla scent, but they were out. I chose this scent because the reviews show it is a best seller. Now I am wishing I would have gone with unscented, or lavender. The Lavender is not nearly so powerful.
Now I have a gallon of this to use and Im not looking forward to it.
The shampoo works well to keep my stinky dog from smelling for at least a week. Thats great once the honeysuckle dissipates...”
Hi Christine,
I'm so sorry the Honeysuckle is too strong for you. I am going to get you a Dog of the Woods 16oz. in the mail free of charge to try to see if that is better for you. It is a much lighter scent than Honeysuckle.
Let me know how that goes once you receive it.
Thank you,
Elyse
“I have used many different shampoos, this by far is the best. I have Goldendoodles with curly coats and the shampoo plus conditioner leaves them incredibly soft and leaves them not itching. Thank you for making a great product!!! That's why I got the Gallon size!!”
“We have bathed our dogs 4 times so far and we are not seeing a noticeable difference. The shampoo cleans well, but they still seem to be itching about the same as before using it.”
Im sorry you haven't seen any results yet. Although many of our customers see instant results, sometimes it will take some pets -4 weeks of consistent use for the skin to restore.
Here are some simple tips to help achieve the best possible results for your pup!
For healthy animals, the recommended washing interval is once every -4 weeks. However, you may feel free to wash as often as you like, because the probiotic kefir supports the skins natural biome and doesnt disrupt it.
For animals with chronic skin issues, it is best to bathe the animal once every 3 days for the first two weeks, then once a week until the skin normalizes. We highly recommend using a daily-use product, like Daily-use Probiotic Deodorizer or Daily-use Probiotic Detangler. The daily-use products will provide a much needed boost of probiotic to those trouble spots.
You are fine switching to a monthly or bi-monthly routine once the skin has normalized.
Hope that helps and let me know if you are still not seeing results in a week or two! We are here to help!
“My senior rescue cocker spaniel has a chronic yeast infection. The vet had him on anti fungal drug for a year and he still had it so I discontinued administering it. I have always bathed in in Vetoquinol Medicated Shampoo up to x a week and when I learned of this I thought I'd give it a try. I had so hoped this would help, it made sense from a layperson's perspective that probiotics could help alleviate his yeast problem.
It didn't. I've been bathing him now for about a month and he still starts to smell after days and he never stops scratching. About 10 days ago I bought the one gallon size shampoo and conditioner so I will continue to use Skout's Honor to use it up but....I won't be reordering.
I can report the same with the probiotic ear cleaner....it hasn't helped, but that doesn't mean it hasn't helped other dogs...there are a lot of pawsitive reviews, maybe the other dogs just had dry skin and this has helped them.....but not Hubert.”
“I have not tried it yet. But Im very upset that my discount was not given when I purchase the shampoo. I put in the code for it but it didnt give one. Not sure will order again the gallon cost me 96.00$”

“It's ok, little goes as long way. I haven't seen the results that most of the reviews claim to have but for seventy dollars you can rest assured I'll use the rest.”

Diluting can make it much easier to spread and lather throughout the coat and rinse out, plus it is super easy to do. Simply pour roughly 1 FL.OZ. (one shot-glass full) per 0-pounds of doggie into an old water bottle or dilution bottle (available on our website!) and top off with water. Dont worry about over diluting, as long as the entire contents of the bottle get on the animal youll be just fine. Massage into the skin with both hands for up to -minutes and rinse out.
Hope that helps and let me know if you have any other questions! We are here to help!

“Look at me I completed the two weeks of washing the dog every hours, then weekly for weeks, then every other week. She smells great after bath, but is still smelling a few days after bath. She is an indoor dog and doesnt play outside much. Didnt notice a fifference in the longevity of odor from store products.”
