“I also got the tin of balm. I used it in my month old puppy. We had a lot of snow and I was helping his paws out. Of course he licked his paws. He sadly had an allergic reaction to the castor oil that is in the balm. He had intestinal distress that caused excessive drooling and had to take him to the vet. This took him a week to get over, then he got a urinary infection and I had to take him to the vet again to get pain medicine and antibiotics. I dont know if its any good because of this. However I will say that my vet said dogs are often allergic to castor oil. So be careful”

We're so sorry to hear that your puppy had an allergic reaction to the castor oil. We use a small amount of castor oil in our Prebiotic Pet Balm and is safe for pets. A reaction is not something we have heard of and so I apologize for your experience.

“This stuff cant come out of the tin unless scraped. I live in the south and my home is 8-80 degrees and it should be able to get from tin and chapstick easier. I cant use it.”

We're sorry to hear that you're having trouble with the Prebiotic Pet Balm! The consistency is hard upon arrival so it does not melt during transit. You can warm the stick in the sun or warm the balm really well with your fingers to make it easier to apply. A little bit goes a long way so we suggest applying a small amount at a time.
