Thank you for reaching out! I am so sorry you're having trouble with our Urine & Odor Destroyer Concrete & Turf product.
I have found that the best way to bend the tab backwards is to use my thumb as leverage. As you use your thumb to bend the tab back (to the right), you can use your other hand to turn the knob down and to the left. Then you can release your thumb's hold on the tab and the nozzle attachment will be open!

“Noticed an immediate change in oder but my son went crazy and used the whole container on the aera. My dog and I are old so I cannot move fast enough to get to the door to let her out fast enough. Can this be used on carpet indoors? If not do you have something that I can use indoors that works as well as your concrete turf product?”
