Our washable wipes are fantastic. The washable wipes, or reusable wipes, have terry cotton on one side and a smooth fleece layer on the other. This fabric combination make for a very versatile wipe, offering a suitable surface whatever clean up is needed.

I bought some cheaper wipes elsewhere, but didn't find them fit for purpose for poo, so they were relegated to face wipes after meals. These are the only wipes you'll need to buy. Fluffy, sturdy, soft, and they do the job to get rid of the most stubborn poo very well or to wipe little hands or faces. So far they've washed and dried very well and the stitching seems to be holding up well.

I bought a pack of ten to boost my existing wipes (cheeky wipes) but they don't match up to them. They are larger, but I don't find that much of a help. I find the fleece side doesn't dry well as suggested. I tend to go straight for my cheeky wipes instead.

We didn't get these initially because washable wipes seemed a step too far, but the first time I changed a nappy out of the house I realised how weird it felt to be keeping the nappy but throwing away the wipes. We got these and have never looked back. They are so much easier to use than commercial wet wipes - I always ended up pulling several out each time but with these wipes it's easy just to take one and they are so large and sturdy you only need one for a wet nappy. For a dirty nappy we usually use two; never more than three. Washing them is as easy as washing the nappies. At home we keep a few pre-wetted. We submerge them in water and then wring them a bit so they are wet/damp, and then keep them in a clear plastic bag (in fact, an empty Boots cotton wool bag) next to the changing mat. We keep a dry one for drying baby off after wiping him down. When out of the house we use the Cheeky Wipes Out & About bag which is perfect for them.We bought 40, but we've actually only used 30 which is plenty (washing every other day). I've held back the other 10 for wiping hands and face when he starts eating food...

Before my LO was born I decided that I would use muslins as nappies until he was big enough for re-usables and then added these wipes to my order because Nappy Lady recommended them on my advice letter. Unfortunately the muslins as nappies didn't work out but these wipes were brilliant from the beginning. Even with a tiny newborn these were never any trouble to wash, they just went in with his clothes and muslins (everything went on a 60 in those first few weeks). Having thought these might be a step too far, especially for my husband, they turned out to be an unexpected success and I honestly don't know what I would have done without them! I once forgot them and had to use a free sample pack of wipes that I had in the change bag. It was a disaster, they just slid over his poo and didn't take any of it off despite using most of the pack (while I worried about the chemicals!). Thank goodness I was at a children's centre and they had cotton wool! I tend to use two for a poo with any (rare) marks left after washing being removed with a bit of sunshine, and I pop some vinegar as a softener in the final rinse. I always use a bowl of warm water so haven't got round to using any of the recipes and I wet them under a tap when we're out. My brother-in-law has his eye on them for car cleaning when I'm finished with them but they're far too good for that!

I have been looking to get rid of all disposable wipes etc in my home and these have been a fantastic investment. They are strong and soft and keep botties/faces/hands clean and fresh without the need for any nasties. Brilliant for my daughter who is prone to getting eczema as I can make up my own potion to keep them in.

These are completely essential for life wiith a baby and beyond. They are so versatile and can be used for bottom and face, and for wiping things generally. They wash like a dream, coming out spotless despite being used for grotty breastfed poo. As an added bonus, even my husband loves them, and finds them easier to use on dirty bottoms than wipes or cotton pads, as they are textured, so allow grub to stick to them so easily. A perfect product!
