A gentle calendula-based cream made by Weleda, specialists in homeopathic and natural products. Now produced without any peanut oil base I am not a big believer in "lotions and potions" when it comes to cleaning a baby`s bottom, but sometimes a soothing cream is required. This cream is extremely kind to children`s skin and is highly rated by many of our customers. I use the Weleda cream as a preventative barrier cream ie one to prevent nappy rash rather than healing it. I find the consistency to be similar to Sudacrem but it's natural and has a wonderful smell. I use this religiously on a newborn baby for around the first 4 weeks. Baby's bottom can be very sensitive in the early weeks as it's never come in contact with wee or poo before and using Weleda cream allows the skin to adapt to the outside world. After the first 4 weeks then i stop using the cream until teething starts. Teething causes red cheeks, dribbling but also causes very acidic wee and caustic poo. The Weleda cream again gives the skin added protection during the teething stage.

“My little one is prone to getting nappy rash. This cream is brilliant at preventing the rash coming and soothing a slightly red bottom however didn't do much for the very sore patches. Since using this cream at every change we haven't had any soreness so I'm very happy with it but wouldn't recommend it to clear a nasty rash.”

“Great as an everyday barrier cream. Goes nicely on and smells lovely - completely different from the usual antiseptic baby bum creams, (which have their place). We've only tried it on mild redness, not on bad nappy rash, so can't comment on that.”

“This cream works like a dream, glides on to a red bottom and definately makes a quick improvement, sometimes clears redness after just one application. Have just ordered my second tube think will be continuing witht his cream for a long time.”

“This cream is lovely. I bought it because we got our first case of nappy rash when teething and although sudocream calmed it a little and stopped it getting worse the skin never really went back to normal. The Weleda cream is wonderful - it smells nice and has oil to act as a barrier. I've been using it on almost every nappy change (especially at night) and you only need a tiny amount. My daughter's skin is back to normal again. Highly recommended!”

“I bought this lovely cream after my daughter started having recurrent bouts of nappy rash. I'd tried others but whilst they cleared the rash they didn't seem to prevent it. This cream from Weleda is the most gentle and effective I've tried. I use it each nappy change as a preventative step to keep the area smooth, soft and soothed, and give a good slather at the first sign of any redness. Since using it my daughter's botty has barely been affected. The cream has a lovely smooth consistency and rubs in easily, not at all gloopy, sticky or claggy. It also smells wonderful, is natural and free of nasties and the most gently effective cream I've found. It's a pleasure to use and definitely one of our essentials - a bit more expensive than other creams but the tube is massive and a little goes a long way. Highly recommended!”

“Recommended to me this has not let us down. I didn't use any cream for the first days of nappy use and a rash developed on my little boy's bottom; a few applications later it was all gone and have no problems with rashes since. I use it at most changes, a little goes a long way and does provide a good barrier. I have not yet been let down by any weleda product.”
