“The Desk is very nice, VERY GOOD. Assembling it was easy apart from the legs to the desktop crossmember as they have 3 holes and in the online video and manually neither tell you which one to go with or even mention it, summary they change the placment of your legs either having them more back or center, having them more back makes the legs stick out more than the desktop maybe leading to placement issue of the desk. Material of the desk is quite nice, I heard the desktop Pheasantwood is easily scratched so I have it covered in deskpads and exclusively put everything on those deskpads. However I think the desktop is more scratch proof then what people give credit for.”
“The table is absolutely gorgeous, the only problem is that when it arrived it came with lots of scratches, roughly 1/1.5 cm apart, all alongside the surface side of the table. I'm not sure where the scratches came from. They are incredibly light however, and need to be shined directly with a light, and viewed at a certain angle to see them, however when this is done the scratches are incredibly apparent. Overall the desk quality did exceed my expectations.”
“I did a lot of research in the lead up to purchasing this desk. I compared the other brands in the category and even contacted these brands to see if they could match the price and what UpDown desk were offering with the desk, of which they could not price match or offer more included items. I did read up on the backstory to UpDown desk, being established by a Physio and Australian owned and operated, and the experience other customers have had with them and only seeing and hearing good things, especially in the efforts to achieve a positive customer experience and satisfaction.
Whilst I could not go and see the competition's desks side by side to compare physically, I analysed the differences between them and considering the minimal differences mainly around the functionality of the controller with the desk, speed at which it could go up and down and varying heights across them the core offerings from each was basically the same across the board. The value for money UpDown desk were offering was impossible to beat, and 100 day money back guarantee ensured that they were confident in their product.
As for the desk, once received it did take about 45min - 1hr to put together and it did require my to drill some self tapping screws to secure the desk motors, control box and cable management into the timber underneath the desk. This is something people should consider they're prepared to do when ordering, as you could get away with using a screwdriver to install them but it's a lot easier with a drill. This is something that is very simple, there are instructions and videos on their website so you can't possibly assemble it incorrectly if you follow them.
The look of the Pheasantwood is very impressive, beyond my expectations and the weight of the desk makes it feel very premium. The size is perfect for me being 180cm which allows me to have enough space for my work and not feel cramped at all. The functionality of the motorised height adjustment is smooth and quiet, with four memory height adjustments and when at full height still feels extremely stable.
I'm very pleased with my purchase, upon delivery there was even a note handwritten on the box giving that personal touch that it was picked and packed by people who care. These small things go a long way when there is finer margins between the competition. I hope this helps anyone considering between the options in the category, as I feel this desk will stand the test of time and will stay with me for a long while.”
