“Customer service walked us through procedure needed for restarting our unit following a recent remodel of our kitchen. We ended up replacing the main filter just to be safe because we had allowed the unit to sit with filters and water contained within the unit in a hot garage for about 10 days before seeking advice on how to prevent bacterial growth in the unit while it was sitting idle during our remodeling process. Customer service advised pulling both filters and refrigerating them until reinstalling our unit. We decided to get a new main filter to be safe, and everything is now back in and running great.”

Our filter lifetime depends on 2 aspects: the elapsed time and the amount of water consumption.
If one of the two limits has been reached, the corresponding filter will need to be replaced.
Since the different areas will have different water conditions, the actual lifetime of the filters may vary and the actual situation shall prevail.
