“I live in the north central part of the country, just two hundred miles from the Canadian border. I began ice fishing for the first time this year, I knew that I wanted the right outdoor gear to do it in. I was looking for something that was not only warm but also had the flotation system in it at a reasonable price. I was not relishing the thought of paying over $400 for bibs and a jacket. I was glad to find the Boreas floating ice fishing suit for under $300. This past week I was out fishing in air temps of -20 with windchill‘s of -40 and higher. This suit never let me down, aside from my hands getting a little cold while baiting hooks, I was warm all day. Granted it is a little bit bulky due to the flotation system but I believe that once it is broken in that will lessen as well. If you think you wear a large I would recommend ordering the bibs in a XL because they are a little tight around the chest area, especially when sitting down. I have not tested the flotation system, hope I never have to. I recommend this suit if you’re looking for warmth and the safety of a flotation system at a reasonable price.”
“This suit is amazing. First Day out ice fishing, it was 9 degrees and 25 mph wind with snow and I was hot! Totally windproof and waterproof. Fit and quality are great! So comfortable worth every penny! Great customer service. I had a shipping issue and it was fixed right away”
“I had not been ice fishing all that much over the past few years bc I didn’t have a shanty to break the wind and keep warm. A buddy talked me into buying a float suit rather than spending the money on a shanty and I am so glad he did. I have been out every weekend since I got this suit and love it. I have been out in sub zero temps, extremely windy days and days with light snow. When I layer properly and don’t let myself work up a sweat, I am toasty warm and spend more time on the ice. I don’t find it to be too stiff or bulky. I will say I do wish the arms had a touch more insulation but it’s nothing an extra layer can’t fix.”
“Bibs are extremely warm and thick. Knees are reinforced and solid. Coat is nice as well, not as thick as the bibs but all very warm all together. I have been out in 0 degrees fishing in it and been plenty warm.”
