“Excellent product - far superior to the OEM part and so much cheaper than replacing the whole pedal box! The X8R instructional video is well worth watching, although it is based on fitting with the pedal box removed from the vehicle for clarity. When fitting to a 2010 Twingo pedal in situ, I suggest removing the lower dashboard section above the pedals, which is retained by integral spring clips. It should just pull off, starting from the door side. This makes access to the top of the clutch pedal possible. Lever off the old link rod using a spanner as shown in the video (one end is probably off already!). Having fitted the dust covers and greased the link rod sockets as shown, I used water pump pliers to gently squeeze the socket onto each ball joint. Then use small pointed nose pliers to feed the spring clips into the holes in the link rod. It is certainly a tricky job, but well worth the effort considering the money saved. The car has been driven for 200 miles since with no issues. Thank you X8R for a superb product and service!”
“The product has fixed my car but the ease of fitment and video is very deceiving!! They admitted themselves it is usually fitted with the whole pedal box removed and using vice / clamps. If I had known this to begin with I wouldn't had wasted several hours trying to fit this!!
Overall it cost me £90 to get the local garage to fit this part so still recommend (far cheaper than replacing the whole thing) but they really should be a bit more honest about how easy (difficult more like!) it is to fit....”
“I'm sure the replacement Renault clutch pedal link is better than the original one. However, they ignore just how bl**dy difficult it is to fit. I understand that showing the pedal assembly removed adds clarity to the product, but it in no way reflects real life (removing the pedal assembly is no small task, so you wouldn't do that either).
How they get the spring clips in (which make it better than the original" is anyone's guess.
I can't say how effective the link is as I have yet to manage to assemble it, having consumed a great many hours already.
Maybe they could try it in situ & have a "how to" guide with the promo video?”
