“It took me a couple of weeks to get around to repairing the pump, but finally the diesel leak got too much.
My pump is from a Merc Vito 108cdi without the pressure reg, so a couple of the seals weren't used.
Followed the instructions on the video and written.
All seemed to go ok.
I finished the pump and installed it, but didn't put the engine mount and air filter back so I could run it and check for leaks.
I got it going, but there was quite a leak from one of the heads.
I pulled the pump off again and removed that head. Found that one of the small metal washers under the valve cage was slightly out of place and crushed it. I replaced this and made sure all seals were in the correct place and torqued up the bolts.
I then reinstalled the pump and tested it.
The pump was absolutely dry when running.
Replaced the engine mount and air filter and all is good.
Can't say it was the easiest job to do but made a lot easier with the instructions xr8 give.
When you consider how expensive these pumps are, particularly in Australia, this is an excellent and cheap fix.”
