In the end I was led to believe the mystery watch I purchased is worth twice what I paid.
Again, more marketing.
Not on eBay it isn't - not even close - might not get back what I paid - for a watch still in the box.
So don't do it - be sensible - research - look for the same product on an alternate site.
I would have happily spent additional dollars to return this and make a different choice; after all it was my foolishness that got me in this predicament.
Alas, there are rules, and no returns or refunds.
Always tough dealing with bureaucracy, and there are never any winners in this situation.”

As a first time buyer, we definitely would recommend that you place an order from an item that you prefer, and maybe save the mystery box for when your Xeric collection has grown a little. First time buyers tend to have buyers remorse when they do not get an item that maybe they had hoped for in our collection.
Please note that the mystery items are not promised to be twice the value. They are valued up to $800USD retail, but are definitely worth far more than the mystery pricing. The item received is currently marked at $599 retail value at the moment.

“NASA trappist automatic: this is my third Xeric watch; I always receive amazing compliments and questions whenever I wear one. Great conversation starters. Unfortunately, my trappist crystal cracked with normal wear after a few months. This is the first time I have had an issue with any of these watches, and the crystal is specificlaly excluded from the warranty.”
