“Unfortunately I can’t say much regarding the turban in particular because it arrived a month after it was supposed to. I needed it for a vacation and it never shipped. I reached out to customer service and heard nothing back for weeks. Eventually I reached out to Meta to refund the order due to it not being shipped and no communication coming from the seller - ONLY then did the turban suddenly ship. No refund was given and I no longer have use for the item, so overall I can’t recommend based off poor customer service and customer experience.”
“Super disappointed. Terrible communication, and can't hardly use the turban after all that.
My first issue was the ordering itself: A few days after putting in my order, a notice went out about the delays in processing time, which I understand but wish had been noted when placing the order instead of notifying me after with no actual information about how long the delays would be. I emailed almost 2 weeks later after still hearing nothing, and the reply was that they were prepping for shipment, still with no ETA. A week later, still no update, so I emailed again, finally receiving updates with shipping information. It took almost a month to receive shipping information, and then I got the item within a couple of days. This would have been fine with me if that had just been stated when I ordered or at least at the time the delay notice went out. It seemed like the order was just forgotten until I sent the 3rd follow up, since suddenly my item shipped the next day.
My second issue was the item: The turban itself isn't what I expected. Based on the description of it being a "double-lip lined turban," I thought it was a silicone lined wrap which was going to be better for my long, curly hair since swim caps tend to pull and stretch my hair, but it's just a swim cap with a turban attached. It pulls at my roots just as badly as any other swim cap, and once I finally get it on, it pushes my brows down into a weird shape so I couldn't even wear this just for decorative purposes. It's tight and pulls my hair so much I can hardly adjust it to make it look nicer on me. I wish there had at least been a better description, or better yet a video of it being applied, on the description page so I could actually see what I was buying.
I work really hard for my money, but I was so excited to use it in support of a black woman-owned business, and I thought would be the amazing item that I've been looking for for years. I don't ever pay this much for this kind of thing, but I wanted to support this company. Instead, I felt like I paid over $50 and waited a month for... a swim cap I can't even use. And then wasn't properly communicated with to get it in the first place! It's great that you're growing from shark tank, but it is like a slap in the face when both the ordering process and the item are such a disappointment. If this somehow changes the entire game for me when I actually get to use it to swim, I will update my review, but after that experience, I don't believe I will ever order from this company again.”
