As much as we’d love to create a formula for everyone, with the reality of all the various hair and scalp types out there we knew we'd never be able to please every head. When shampooing:
Mainly focusing on the scalp and not really 'shampooing the ends' as this will happen during rinsing
Double shampoo
When Conditioning:
Focusing on mid-length to ends and really working through your luscious locks.
If you have the capacity to dry your hair off a touch before applying the conditioner (quick towel off) that will get you double points.
bonus points for a cold water rinse, even just at the end.
Shampooing the scalp twice provides adequate cleansing (which will also aid in time between washes) and not having the conditioner on the roots allows the scalp's natural oils to do their job without being blocked.

My only suggestions (ex-hairdresser here) are:
When shampooing:

I tend to also leave this on my ends as I do all my other shower things and rinse (again, bonus points for a cold water rinse, even just at the end).
If your ends are on the drier side and not too fine with the fear of finding conditioners weighty you can lightly rinse.
Shampooing the scalp twice provides adequate cleansing and not having the conditioner on the roots allows the scalp's natural oils to do their job without being blocked.
