£50 cancellation fee would not be waived by the web chat advisor Laura H even though policy not due to start until 09/10/20.
I made a small mistake on price comparison site and didn't realise until I had paid. I tried all day to get an advisor on the 1st Central chat and after 6 hours someone replied.
I explained what I had done and said I wanted to cancel the policy so I could re-do it correctly on the comparison site. I was even going to take it out again with 1st Central and it was going to cost me £3 more only for the exact same policy.
Ist central wanted another over £20. I explained I was in financial difficulty due to furlough etc but the advisor wouldn't give an inch. I though it was against the law to charge extra money if you cancelled in the cooling off period! This is an utter disgrace. My mum has a policy with this company and she is furious as well. Don't think they will be getting our trade again on renewal. This company should be ashamed of itself taking advantage of people like this when people are genuinely struggling. Its a rip off.
