Well you could say, what went right ! I parked in one of the NCP car parks in Northampton, St. Peters Way. I was feeling unwell, and on my way to receiving a Covid Test, I couldn't have been there much more than 20 minutes. I went to the ticket machine, which didn't use cash, so I booked the ticket on my phone, or so I thought.
However, imagine when I received rather a nasty letter from so called NCP Car Parks, that I was being fined a £100, due to not having paid for my ticket. I checked my bank statement, and found that £1.30 had been paid to NCP Car Parks ! However, even after sending a copy of this statement, the NCP said it was unacceptable, and asked for more proof, a screengrab, whatever that is. I am not very good on the computer, so had to ask my husband to help me with this. I do pity someone who has to deal with this, and does not have a computer or is no too tech savvy. I am still awaiting the outcome, but I will not use one of their car parks ever again. You are not even allowed to telephone anyone ! How convenient is that ?!
All you can do, is join their so called web chat, which seems to be staffed by robots, for all the sense and help you can get out of them. Please, if you do have the misfortune to park in one of their car parks, be very careful,as they are faceless bureaucrats.
