Absolute terrible service and experience.
Have been waiting almost a whole YEAR for the RAC to refund a tyre I had to pay for myself (I have tyre cover) because the patrol couldn't put it on the RAC card. They then tried to do the exact same thing to me a second time.
Then had nearly £400 go from my bank account in a renewal with no notification ("oh we emailed you over a month ago but they often go to spam folders"). I called the next day and got the "if you're not happy with the price, I could reduce it" routine (why do they not just give you the cheapest price?) and when I just asked for them to cancel the renewal they charged me a £25 admin fees.
It's probably in their terms and conditions, but given I've not seen any renewal docs or anything (the customer service - lol - agent even confirmed I hadn't been in the MyRAC App or seen the renewal info)...
So, summary. Top level cover but I've had to pay for things myself that I've been waiting on almost a year to be refunded. Emails and complaints that go unanswered. Renewals that they know are overpriced with no notification. Indifferent (and very obviously so) customer service staff. And an "it's in the terms" £25 fee for cancelling a day after your surprise, inflated renewal takes £400 out of your bank.
Do yourself a favour. No matter the cost or how nice the person is outside your local Tesco getting you to sign up, don't do it. Absolute nightmare company with zero customer service - and given you're paying for somebody to have your back when something goes wrong, that's a shame.
